Chieko had a Canadian Japanese interpreter through whom we were able to communicate. SI Kyoto- Miyako main project is domestic violence.
The members wear a Purple Ribbon which is a symbol of no-violence for women. The club won First Prize in “Soroptimist Celebrating Success” for 2014 in Center Region of Japan.
The club also sells “blue scarves for pins”. Both Donna and I were happy to be given one.
