Soroptimist of the Year 2012

Nancy Borough was installed as a Soroptimist of S.I. Guelph in January 2010 and has been a very active member ever since. She helped “set up” the Women in Crisis dinners as our Saturday of Service, and had several friends attend the dinner which was a fundraiser for that organization.

She also assisted by working at the bar during the evening at the 2011 Sunlight Music Festival run by the same organization and also helped  with the club’s Popcorn stand and selling of Glow lights.

Nancy had a friend join our club, she has contributed to and worked at our garage sales , help organize and attended a “Stamping Up” event as a fundraiser for the club and is  now a member of  the Fundraising committee. She  is always thinking up new ideas for fundraising.

Her attendance at meetings is perfect and she was installed as the treasurer of the club for the next two years. She attended the Fall Regional Meeting hosted by S.I. Guelph in 2009 even before she joined the club.

As far as Public Awareness is concerned she often makes her colleagues aware of the fundraising events of the club, puts up posters, and have some of them participate.

Nancy has attended the S.I. Dundas, Ancaster, Flamborough  Dinner and Auction and was present at the 30th Anniversary lunch of S.I. Cambridge.

For all that she has done and achieved Nancy is undoubtedly the Soroptimist of  the Year for 2012.
